The Gardens

The Villa’s extensive gardens have changed over the years. Originally, these incorporated a landscape of utility and enjoyment, with private tennis courts and paved areas, but also extensive fields that were used to grow food for the Villa’s use. Although a large part of the gardens has now been lost to development, the parts that still exist have been restored and will again be of various use.

The first phase of the Villa’s restoration involved restoring the gardens and replanting trees that were present in the original plans. Serving as a respite from the surrounding urban areas, the Villa’s gardens are a place where people can meet, read a book, and enjoy fresh air. Learn more about the trees in the garden through the QR code trail or here.

The gardens will be open every Sunday, from 15th December, between 7.30am and 4pm.
