Brachychiton populneus, commonly known as the Kurrajong or Bottle Tree, is a medium-sized tree native to eastern Australia and belongs to the Malvaceae family. It typically grows to a height of 10-20 meters and produces small, bell-shaped flowers that vary in colour from white to pinkish. Often planted for its ornamental value or as a shade tree, the Kurrajong holds cultural significance as well, with Indigenous Australians historically using its bark to make twine for fishing nets.
